Wylie House is a registered Child and Youth Care Facility situated at 202 Peter Mokaba Ridge, Berea, Durban, Kwa-Zulu Natal.

The programme offers therapeutic residential care to 40 at risk and vulnerable female children and youth between the ages of three and a half to eighteen.

All young people are admittted to Wylie House with a Court Order from the Children’s Court.

These young people have been exposed to some form of emotional or physical trauma, placing their holistic development at risk. They require careful management, care, assesment and treatment. A professional multi-disciplinary team at Wylie House offer these services. All efforts are made to empower these young people with life skills to protect themselves and eventually be re-united with their families and communities.

Wylie House receives a subsidy per child from the Department of Social Development to cater for the needs of these young people. This subsidy does not cover the holistic cost of caring for our young people. The current subsidy covers 48% of our monthly costs, leaving 58% for us to raise in order to meet our monthly operational costs.
